Fresh figs in the north, grown in our own apartment, by late summer!
39+ Chicago Hardy Fig Vs Brown Turkey Fig. Does anyone have experience growing either of these fig trees? It was bought for me as chicago hardy from the netherlands.

The chicago hardy fig, also known as hardy chicago and bensonhurst purple, is a relatively new variety that originated in sicily. The chicago hardy fig is a fig tree which can handle a good chill. Besides its cold hardiness, brown turkey fig tree is an easy tree to grow in almost all aspects.
These figs in particular are the brown turkey variety.
Large fig with brown skin, pink flesh and sweet, rich flavor. I think is a brown turkey because when i bought it the farmer said it was brown fig tree. Brown turkey has been recommended for our area here in northwest oklahoma, but after reading about the hardiness of this fig, i'm thinking the heat tolerance might really work here.
