35+ My Arborvitaes Are Turning Brown. When the needles are dying on the inside of the tree it is normal. The browning of the inner foliage is probably due to seasonal needle drop.

Brown is the color of dark wood or rich soil. Arborvitae requires evenly moist and rich soil. The browning of the inner foliage is probably due to seasonal needle drop. I dont see any bugs and the all get the same water from rain fall.
